Air India reveals new logo, livery design as part of massive makeover

  The colorful new livery design and logo are both part of a major Air India overhaul. The airline, which was purchased by Tata Group last year, aims to become an international aviation player on par with Etihad, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, and other highly-rated carriers. “Colors, patterns, shapes and how they come together and what they represent matter, but our actions speak so much louder. We are in the midst of a total transformation to reimagine the role of India’s flagship airline,” Campbell Wilson, Air India’s CEO, said in a statement. “The new Air India is bold, confident and vibrant, but also warm and deeply rooted to its rich history and traditions that make Indian hospitality a global benchmark for standards in service.” The redesign includes a special custom font, Air India Sans, that will now be used across the brand.     In 2022, the Center for Environmental Health, a nonprofit consumer advocacy group based in California, tested sports bras, leggings, athletic shirts and other activewear and found high levels  of the chemical bisphenol A  (BPA) in those sold by Athleta, PINK, The North Face, Nike and Patagonia, among other brands. (CNN  reached out to the companies for comment ; a spokesperson for Athleta said the company was committed to safety standards, adding, “We believe the CEH claims have no merit and stand by our products and practices.”) This came just one year after the CEH found high levels of BPA in socks from over 100 brands. Claudia Vasconcelos: How this trailblazer referee unexpectedly made history at the first Women’s World Cup

  There are many things from the evening in which she made history that Claudia Vasconcelos remembers well, but 32 years on and it’s the atmosphere inside the stadium in Guangzhou,   China , that is etched most vividly in her mind. “It was very surreal actually,” she recalls with a broad smile that never leaves her face. “It was a packed stadium … being in a stadium with that number of fans for women’s football was a great joy.” On November 29, 1991, Vasconcelos became the first female referee to officiate an official  FIFA World Cup  match, taking charge of the Women’s World Cup third-place playoff between Sweden and Germany at the Guangdong Provincial Stadium.
